Caldwell Blind Mans Bluff – Setup

Pairing: Iron City and Ron Zapaca 23yr.

Pre-light: Wrapper looks Very plain(ish). No oils but nice coloring. Band is subtle but works on this cigar.  Effortless draw, almost too loose. Nice cocoa hints before lighting.

Caldwell Blind Mans Bluff – First Third

Very pleasant blast of pepper and spice right on the first puff. Hints of Cocoa and pepper linger through the retro. Cedar notes has taken over as the primary flavor. Burn is not razor but not bad either.

Caldwell Blind Mans Bluff First Third

Caldwell Blind Mans Bluff – Second Third

No changes at all. Same flavors, burn and draw. Nothing special has changed. Kinda lame at this point. Towards the end on this third the burn corrected to almost razor sharp.

Caldwell Blind Mans Bluff – Last Third

Still no changes in the flavors. Kinda getting bored at this point. It has been very one dimensional from first light to now. As I prepared to remove the band – WHOA!!!! Stop everything! Dare I say it, I get a hint of blueberries on a draw. It only lasted one puff but it definitely was worth it. Very surprised and not disappointed with it.

Pros

Great Price

Good Flavors

Good Draw & Burn

Cons

One-Dimensional

Summary
Flawless draw all the way through. Very plain, typical flavors all the way except the blast of blueberry. For the price, it's a good cigar. If it was a penny more though, not a chance. Would I buy it again.... Yes - for the price.

Great smoke for when you don't really want to think about it.
I loved this cigar for the sole reason that it is easy and smooth. It had a nice creaminess throughout and was simple to enjoy. As other reviewers state, it doesn't wow and it doesn't surprise you with big flavors or flavor changes... But, that's kinda what made it so nice. It was easy to like and easy to smoke.

I haven't had many Caldwell cigars that I've been impressed with and this was no different very little change in flavor although the draw and burn were good the rest of this cigar are middle of the road I've had worse and I've had better for the money I wouldn't go out of my way to get them

Strong Newcomer to the Caldwell Family
The smoke opens up with a body of notable oak and mild earth. The consistency is incredibly smooth and creamy but a pepper finish keeps the smoke from becoming stagnant. It’s giving up a rich, warm aroma leaving me wondering which is better - flavor or fragrance. By the midpoint, a nutty flavor has slowly transitioned from the background to become the primary note of the finish, complimenting the strong oak lead. Into the final third, the pepper reminds you it hasn’t disappeared but doesn’t interfere with the profile. The end wraps up with a rich warm nuttiness and solid oak flavors.

It's ok
I'm a big fan of Caldwell cigars but I have never really enjoyed this one. I've had it on two occasions and I felt the same both times. Although my second experience was with the ice cold moca flavored Starbucks bottles. I had to take a sip after every drag to kind of enjoy the stick. The bland flavors just don't do it for me!

Let my start by saying I'm a big fan of Caldwell cigars. The first time I had this car I was in my car so judging the burn was a tad difficult with the surroundings but 2nd time I had no issues, those others seem to say they do. I find this to be a very good stick for the money. It may not be the high end quality but let's be real, you aren't paying high end price. In my opinion (which may not be worth much) if you're looking for that solid feel and and flavor of a higher end cigar but don't wanna spend that $ everyday then don't kid yourself and accept it for what it is, a good smoke.

BLUFF?
Very much a fan of Caldwell...But I think I was too excited about trying this one. Consistent...but not interesting at all. Going to try with a very strong French press coffee....

Just finished smoking this one Right Off the Truck (ROTT) and enjoyed it! The foot definitely smells like blueberries, but the first half was dominated by Cedar with an underlying spice of some sort. Reminded me of Pine Sol? Weird I know, but I enjoyed it a lot.

I think this would be a Love or Hate cigar with that flavor profile. Worked for me, probably doesn't work for everyone though.

Did have some burn issues, but never made it to the last third. Was too cold, and while I enjoyed it, I wasn't on the edge of my seat or anything.

Let Down
I agree with the review here. Not a bad cigar, but not a great one either. Had major burn issues throughout, but major issues in the final third. Very bland.
