Initial Thoughts

I have yet to smoke a cigar by Foundation that I don’t love.  That being said, I haven’t tried any of The Upsetters, but infused cigars aren’t really my thing.

Hickory, cocoa, milk chocolate,  BBQ, cream

An inch down I have to touch up the burn, but after that things seem to be evening out.  The ash is sturdy and just a bit flaky.  The mouthfeel is slightly chalky which has me wanting a stout to pair it with.

Foundation Cigar Co. The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 – Middle Third

Cocoa, maple syrup, macadamia nut, cherry

Had to touch up the burn again.  The ash holds on a good two inches before needing to be tapped.  Flavors are still complex and moving toward the sweet end of the spectrum.

Maple syrup, macadamia nut, cherry, orange

Just as I enter the final third I need to relight.  The sweet notes are still hitting strong and continue through the end.

complex flavors

maple sweetness

Cons

touch-ups required

Summary

Overall, this was an enjoyable smoke that has more sweetness than some of Nick's other blends. I generally reach for a smaller ring gauge with these, but my local shop only had the one. Still good stuff for sure.
